Where Form becomes Function: The Application and Incorporation of Visual Literacy Principles to Instructional Design

Description:

The poster displays an instruction session module which has been designed to promote the integration of visual resources and visual literacy skills into the research and writing process.

The virtual poster itself strives to meet these same standards of visual and informational literacy, so that the poster itself becomes an exercise in the application and integration of visual literacy principles.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will learn how selected visual literacy concepts can be:

  • applied to instructional design

  • integrated into an instruction class

  • used to reveal a variety of perceptions

  • used to enhance student comprehension of complex relationships between types of information
